PEFC PRODUCTS AT HOFER AUSTRIA
Although the weather gods haven't been very cooperative yet, the gardening season has already started. Flowerbeds are being tended, terraces are being cleaned, hedges are being clipped, lawns are being mowed and the last remnants of the long winter are being cleared away. The warm season brings on the mood for doing some renovation work in your "open-air living room."
A product made of wood is the obvious choice for a garden. It's a natural material, which is environmentally friendly and doesn't harm the climate, it's optically pleasing, easy to care for and comfortable for everyone. Plants also feel at home with wood.
The company GASPO sells a large selection of suitable products: fencing systems, flowerbed borders and decorative articles – the assortment is big and very popular. On Thursday the 28th of April, the Upper Austrian enterprise will be presenting a flowerbox with a trellis and an arched espalier for roses in the diverse assortment of Hofer Austria, both made of certified pine and spruce wood. The cooperation between GASPO and HOFER is based on quality products, which are supplied in sufficient volumes to the entire chain of stores in Austria.
Hofer Austria is a daughter enterprise of ALDI International owning 340 stores throughout the nine provinces and has become widely known for its weekly changing non-food assortment. GASPO is pleased about its cooperation with HOFER – and about the new customers who can be offered PEFC-certified products. "All over Austria the PEFC logo will be visible beside our products in every flyer, every announcement and all direct mail advertisements," said Christian Gattinger. "In the communication with our customers, this is a signal for sustainable management and careful treatment of the resource of timber, even in large volumes!"
Dietmar Hagauer, the General Secretary of PEFC Austria, is also pleased about the effective advertising campaign: "PEFC is not only a familiar label in the B2B branch. With the products offered by Hofer Austria, we also supply the final consumer. This completes the certified chain of custody from the forest to the customer!"
The duplication of the purchased product and the transparency of origin and processing are increasingly important in the timber trade. Uncertain sources, dubious or foreign tropical wood and the confusion caused by different labels make it difficult for the customer. PEFC has therefore made a wood products purchasing guide. At www.pefc-einkaufsratgeber.at you can find wood products from almost 300 certified enterprises all over Austria. Austrian companies are thus being promoted and consumers are being offered customer service and security.
By marketing through one of largest supermarkets in Austria, it has now become easy to buy quality products made of wood right nearby. However you'll have to make a fast decision, since the flowerboxes and rose trellises will only be available at your Hofer around the corner as long as they are in stock!
